AdvantageBC Announces New Direction
December 19, 2019

AdvantageBC has concluded the year by identifying its new focus. The organization, which has championed international finance and foreign direct investment in British Columbia for more than thirty years will be refocusing its advocacy work toward building a policy framework and incentive program that supports the growth of sustainable finance and clean technology in British Columbia.

“Vancouver is already recognized by a number of international rankings as a Top 20 centre for sustainable finance and clean technology. With the global market for sustainable finance projected to grow to upwards of $2 Trillion USD by 2025, it only makes sense that AdvantageBC add our voice to the growing calls to move toward a sustainable future,” said Clark M. Roberts, CEO of AdvantageBC.

Research commissioned by AdvantageBC indicates that there is an existing $27 Billion market in sustainable finance in Canada today, with the potential to grow that market to greater than $110 Billion by 2025.

AdvantageBC will be expanding their staff to focus on sustainable finance and clean technology, in order to tackle the climate crisis, and move BC toward a sustainable future.
