Z/Yen’s Global Financial Centres Index (GFCI), is a bi-annual ranking of the competitiveness of financial centres based on over 29,000 financial centre assessments from an online questionnaire together with over 100 indices from organisations such as the World Bank, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the Economist Intelligence Unit.
For the last 10 years the GFCI has published two reports a year which have charted the progress of the world’s leading financial centres.
Vancouver is rapidly climbing the ranks of the world’s financial centres – from 33rd on the Global Financial Centre Index in 2008 to 15th in 2018. With Canada designated as the RMB settlement hub for North America, we have a unique opportunity to grow Vancouver’s financial sector.
